Description
This robot has been laser-calibrated using our proprietary robot calibration process, and the resulting .prec file has been integrated directly into the KUKA controller. By identifying an optimal kinematic model from precise end-effector pose measurements and compensating for real-world mechanical tolerances, assembly deviations, and structural effects, the robot now operates from a refined absolute model instead of the nominal factory model, delivering significantly improved absolute positioning accuracy without requiring controller modifications or application-level post-processing.
WHY THIS MATTERS:
Unlike standard calibration or post-processing methods that only correct target points, our proprietary laser calibration updates the robot's internal kinematic model itself using measured data collected with a laser tracker across representative robot configurations. The process identifies optimized kinematic parameters through a numerically robust estimation framework, simultaneously calibrating the robot geometry and the spatial transformations between the measurement system, robot base, and tool frames. Instead of relying on a reduced Denavit-Hartenberg parameterization, the calibration uses a complete kinematic representation based on full link transformations, allowing translational and rotational deviations to be identified independently, including geometric errors that reduced models cannot effectively compensate. Noisy measurements are filtered automatically, strongly correlated parameters are excluded to preserve observability and numerical stability, and the final controller-ready .prec file provides a physically consistent model that improves not only absolute point accuracy but also path accuracy during interpolation, contouring, and continuous motion. In practical terms, this makes the robot a strong opportunity: you are not just buying a used manipulator, but a robot with a controller-level absolute accuracy upgrade already embedded and ready for deployment.
System Condition:
Used, in great working condition. Fully tested and operational. Minor cosmetic wear consistent with normal industrial use. Please note: The spindle drawbar needs adjustment. It is not releasing without pulling it hard. We have adjusted the price downwards to compensate for it. Apart from that, this is a fantastic machine, we have used it in milling projects for world-class artists. Please feel free to contact me with your questions.
